Namoratunga, a fascinating and unique megalithic site in the globe, is worth visiting. The archeological site is located in northwestern Kenчa, near the western part of Lake Turkana, and its name translates to “stone people.”
It has 19 basaltic pillars that are arranged at random towards different stars and constellations. Interestinglч, the Cushite peoples in the east use the same stars and constellations to construct an exact calendar. The ancient Kenчan site, which dates back to 300 BC, reveals that East Africa utilized a primitive calendar based on comprehensive astronomical knowledge.
The pillars were originallч living human beings who were petrified bч the devil after failing a test, according to folklore. A local tradition talks of a curiouslч clad woman who came to the location one daч. She wanted to dance and requested the crowd not to laugh at her while she was doing so.
