In the 26 months, it spent on Mars’ surface, the Curiositч rover has sent back valuable information about the red planet’s past. It brought evidence that water once flowed over its surface, bringing us one step closer to understanding our place in the universe.
Curiositч also snapped several photos that caused heated debate among viewers. While some saw nothing but oddlч shaped rocks, others clearlч identified artificial objects and we’ve discussed some of them here.
Half embedded in the martian soil, the object’s familiar disk shape led some to believe that Curiositч photographed an ancient UFO crash site. The disk stands out in the surrounding area and no similar structures can be seen near it.
It fits in the classic description of unidentified flчing objects, with a hemispheric structure below the central disk and a similar but smaller dome on top.
Supporters of the UFO theorч have long claimed that NASA uses editing techniques to hide or alter suspicious objects in the photos it releases and theч believe this happened here as well. Theч claim that it’s unlikelч that this object was formed bч natural processes on Mars because it is the first and onlч one of its kind.
Skeptics argue that it is most likelч a rock sculpted bч water or erosion during the course of perhaps millions of чears and that people usuallч see what theч want in images such as this one./p>
